Write Down Your Judgements

I came across Lilly’s advice to the fledging horary practitioner:

I wish all young beginners to write down their judgments at length, and the reasons as fully as they can at first, and afterward to contract their opinions into a narrow compass: by following these directions, they will have the rules of Art perfect in their memory: I also wish them in delivering their judgment to the querent, to avoid terms of Art in their discourse, unless it is to one who understands the Art.

Avoid technical terms when talking to your clients!
